Srinagar, June 25 -- With the announcement of a ceasefire in the Israel-Iran conflict, the Embassy of India in Tehran has begun gradually winding down its evacuation efforts that were launched during the recent military escalation.
The large-scale operation, named Operation Sindhu, has facilitated the safe return of more than 2,000 Indian nationals from Iran since hostilities intensified earlier this month.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Indian Embassy in Tehran confirmed that evacuation activities are being scaled back in a phased manner following the easing of tensions in the region.
