New Delhi, May 11 -- In a solemn and assertive press conference, India's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, paid tribute to the five armed forces personnel and civilians who lost their lives during Operation Sindoor. Calling them "fallen colleagues and brothers," he said, "Our hearts go out to the bereaved families... Their sacrifices shall always be remembered."

Emphasizing India's commitment to peace but preparedness for action, Lt Gen Ghai stated, "We have thus far exercised immense restraint and our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory. However, any threat to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and safety of our citizens will be met with decisive force."
