New Delhi, July 20 -- The organisers of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) have officially cancelled the India-Pakistan match, citing hurt sentiments and growing concerns from players and fans. The decision comes after several Indian cricketers and one of the event's main sponsors withdrew support for the high-profile fixture.
In a statement, the WCL said the India-Pakistan match was planned after a recent volleyball game between the two nations, hoping to create joyful memories for fans. However, the organisers admitted that the move may have unintentionally hurt the feelings of many and caused discomfort to Indian legends. "We sincerely apologise for hurting sentiments," the statement read.
