Srinagar, Nov. 20 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police clarified reports circulating on social media regarding the accidental explosion at PS Nowgam, Srinagar, stating that several posts are based on conjecture and misleading the public.

According to KNS, Authorities said the explosion occurred on November 14, 2025, while forensic experts were collecting samples from a large cache of recovered explosives for examination. No intentional act was involved, the statement emphasized.

A high-level committee was constituted by the J&K government on November 16, 2025, to examine the incident.
