Srinagar, Oct. 2 -- A major weather system is set to impact Jammu and Kashmir later this week, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting widespread rain and snowfall due to an incoming Western Disturbance. The advisory, issued by the IMD's Srinagar office, covers the period from October 4 to 7, with the most intense weather expected from the night of October 5 through the morning of October 7.
According to the advisory sent to regional authorities, including the Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu, the system is expected to cause moderate to heavy rain in the plains and significant snowfall in the higher reaches of Kashmir.
