Srinagar, March 12 -- Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister, has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to reconsider and lift the recently imposed ban on the Awami Action Committee (AAC) and the Jammu and Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen (JKIM), citing their long-standing service to Kashmir.
Expressing deep concern over the Central Government's decision to impose a five-year ban on AAC, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and JKIM, headed by Masroor Abbas Ansari, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA), Hakeem Yaseen emphasized their significant contributions to Kashmir's socio-political and religious landscape.
