Srinagar, July 23 -- President of the People's Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, on Wednesday condemned the assault on a doctor at SMHS Hospital in Srinagar. The doctor, a postgraduate in Medicine Unit-2 and specially-abled, was reportedly attacked during his emergency duty on Tuesday night.

In a ststement Hakeem Yaseen said such acts of violence against medical professionals are unacceptable and must be dealt with firmly. He said doctors and healthcare workers continue to serve people under pressure, especially in emergencies, and any form of aggression towards them should not be tolerated.
