Jammu, Dec. 23 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Department has referred 480 posts of Medical Officer for direct recruitment under the Jammu and Kashmir Health and Family Welfare (Gazetted) Service Rules.

Out of the total 480 posts, 192 are allocated for open merit candidates. The remaining posts are distributed among Scheduled Castes (38), Scheduled Tribe 1 (48), Scheduled Tribe 2 (48), Backward Area (48), Other Backward Classes (39), Economically Weaker Sections (48), and ALC/IB (19).
