New Delhi, July 25 -- The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has ordered the blocking of 25 OTT platforms, along with 26 websites and 14 apps, for streaming obscene, vulgar, and in many cases, pornographic content.
The action, taken in consultation with the Home Ministry, Women and Child Development Ministry, MeitY, and legal experts, was carried out under the IT Act, 2000 and IT Rules, 2021. Notifications were issued to Google, Apple, and other intermediaries to disable access to these platforms.
