Srinagar, Sept. 13 -- Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar on Saturday held a condolence meeting to pay rich tribute to Prof. (Dr.) Ashiq Hussain Naqashbandi, former Principal and Dean of the institution, who passed away early this morning.

The meeting, held at the Medical Education Unit, was attended by faculty members, administrative staff, medical superintendents, and paramedical staff, who remembered him as a respected figure in the medical community.

Prof. Naqashbandi, among the first CVTS surgeons of Jammu and Kashmir, did his MBBS and MS (General Surgery) from GMC Srinagar before completing his MCh in Cardio-Vascular Thoracic Surgery from CMC Vellore. He joined GMC Srinagar as a faculty member in 1981, later became Head of t...
