Ahmedabad, Oct. 4 -- In a major development, opener Shubman Gill has been named captain of India's ODI team for the upcoming tour of Australia, replacing senior batter Rohit Sharma.
The BCCI announced the 15-member squad on Saturday, marking a gradual change in leadership while keeping experienced players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the lineup. Shreyas Iyer has been appointed vice-captain for the three-match series.
Pace star Jasprit Bumrah has been rested to manage his workload, while young left-hander Yashasvi Jaiswal returns to the ODI setup after impressive performances in T20Is.
