Jammu, March 15 -- Srinagar March 15 (KNS); The Forest Department in collaboration with J&K Forest Research Institute today celebrated Chinar Day, an annual event observed on March 15th, with a series of activities held across the valley with the aim to raise awareness about the importance of the iconic Chinar tree and promote environmental conservation.
The main event was held at Chinar Bagh, Dal Gate, Srinagar. The Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir Irfan Rasool Wani graced the occasion as the chief guest. The day commenced with a ceremonial Chinar sapling plantation drive.
