Srinagar, Dec. 27 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, in a livestock fraud case involving alleged cheating of lakhs of rupees, officials said on Saturday. The chargesheet has been filed in FIR No. 17/2023 under Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the Ranbir Penal Code against Muneer Ahmad Kataria, a resident of Uri Salamabad, presently residing at Shutrloo Rohama in Baramulla district. Officials said the case was registered following a written complaint alleging cheating and misappropriation of money in connection with the supply of livestock under the pretext of a government ST quota scheme.
