Srinagar, April 11 -- An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Frassipora village in south Kashmir's Pulwama, police officials said on Thursday.

The officials said that on a tip-off about movement of terrorists, a joint cordon by Police and CRPF was laid in Frassipora Pulwama. Soon after the search party zeroed in the suspected spot the terrorists whose exact number is not known, fired upon the search party, leading to an encounter in the area.

They said police and security forces are on job.

Earlier Kashmir Police Zone in a post on X said, "#Encounter has started at Frassipora area of #Pulwama district. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow". (KNS)
