Srinagar, June 19 -- Residents of Taweheed Bagh and Arco Residency in Humhama continue to face major hardships due to the slow progress of ongoing drainage work. Despite assurances from the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), the area remains in disarray with open drains, broken roads, and rising safety concerns.

The drainage project has been ongoing for over a month, leaving roads dug up and major pathways blocked. Locals said the area has become unsafe and unhygienic, especially for children and the elderly.

Earlier this month, SMC claimed to have carried out "temporary clearance" to ease the situation. However, locals said the measures have been ineffective, and they are forced to navigate debris-filled, uneven roads daily.
