Srinagar, Jan. 14 -- The only road that connects Kashmir valley to rest of the world on Tuesday remained closed for the 2nd consecutive day after fresh snowfall in the area on Monday. Reports said Srinagar-Jammu national highway was closed on Monday after fresh snowfall and rains lashed the Kashmir valley. More than 3000 vehicles are reported to be stranded on 264-km long highway. A Traffic police official told KNS that the National Highway was closed for vehicular traffic on Monday morning due to the heavy snowfall. He said road became slippery due to snowfall in Jawahar Tunnel area since last evening and the movement of vehicles was also suspended in Banihal-Qazigund section as well.
