Srinagar, Aug. 10 -- Abdul Rashid Dawoodi, head of Jumu Kashmir Tehrik-e-Soutul-Awliya, on Sunday said that the issue of meat being supplied from outside the region without proper verification of its halal status is a serious concern.

He said the administration and police department appear unaware of the scale at which meat from other states is entering the market. Dawoodi added that many people are unaware that this meat could be haram, and called on the public to be cautious.

He said those responsible for supplying haram and rotten meat should face strict punishment to deter similar actions in the future. He also said he appreciated the steps taken by the administration and police to address the issue.
