Uri, June 10 -- A delegation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), led by senior leader and Member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami, visited the border town of Uri to assess the situation of families affected by cross-border shelling.
Speaking exclusively to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Tarigami said the delegation, which included senior MPs from Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan, witnessed firsthand the devastation caused by the shelling.
He expressed deep disappointment over the inadequate response from the government, stating that affected families are living in overcrowded rooms without basic facilities like water or proper sanitation.
