Jammu, April 3 -- CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat on Thursday strongly opposed the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, calling it an "attack on the Constitution" and pledged to challenge it through all possible avenues.

Speaking at a press conference during the party's 24th congress, Karat argued that if the issue was about Waqf Board reforms, the government should have engaged with the Muslim community instead of imposing unilateral changes.

"The BJP is bulldozing the rights of Muslims. While they may use their majority to pass this bill, we will fight it at every level," she said, adding that the CPI(M) views Hindutva politics as closely tied to corporate interests and oppression of minorities.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
