Srinagar, Dec. 14 -- The cold wave intensified across Kashmir overnight, with minimum temperatures plunging sharply at most places, officials said on Sunday, as several areas recorded a drop of four to five degrees Celsius compared to the previous day.

Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.9 degrees Celsius, down from 2.0 degrees Celsius a day earlier.

The temperature at Srinagar airport fell to minus 4.0 degrees from 0.6 degrees, while Pulwama recorded minus 4.2 degrees compared to minus 2.7 degrees on Saturday.

Shopian and Budgam also saw a sharp fall, settling at minus 3.7 degrees and minus 3.1 degrees, respectively.
