Beerwah, Dec. 28 -- Residents of Beerwah town are grappling with an acute shortage of drinking water for the past four days, forcing many households to depend on unsafe and polluted water sources to meet their daily needs.

Locals said many families are now fetching water from polluted sources, raising fears of diseases.

Farooq Ahmad Dar, a resident of Beerwah, said the situation has become unbearable. "We have no drinking water for 4 days. We are forced to collect water from unsafe sources, which can lead to diseases. Authorities must provide tankers now," he added.

Residents appealed to the administration for temporary alternative arrangements, saying winter is at its peak and clean water is a basic need.
