The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Bandipora has issued a strict directive to all doctors and medical staff in the district following reports of malpractice, negligence, and non-compliance with prescribed duties.

The circular, in possession of KNS, states that some doctors were promoting branded medicines over generic drugs, a violation of government service and conduct rules. To curb this, all Block Medical Officers (BMOs) and Medical Superintendents of DH/SDH have been directed to conduct prescription audits fortnightly and take strict action against violators.
