Srinagar, Sept. 4 -- The 17 Infantry Brigade of Nowgam in Handwara on Thursday organized a mega medical and veterinary camp in the Nowgam Sector near the Line of Control, drawing a large turnout from remote communities.
The camp was aimed at helping people living in high-altitude areas, particularly Bakarwals, Gujjars, and other nomadic families who travel long distances to graze their livestock. More than 700 patients were treated during the day, with free medicines distributed on the spot. An ECG facility and other diagnostic services were also made available.
