SRINAGAR, Jan. 15 -- Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir spokesman Altaf Thakur expressed shock and grief over the death of five soldiers and six civilians in various incidents of snow avalanches across Kashmir in the wake of fresh heavy spell of snowfall.

Thakur urged the Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandera Murmu to work out a compensation for the families of civilians who died in avalanches and to direct the administration to remove snow from all major routes in Kashmir, a statement issued to KNS said.
