Udhampur, Aug. 7 -- 3 CRPF personnel lost their lives and at least 10 others were injured-five of them critically when their vehicle rolled into a deep gorge in the Basantgarh area of Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Thursday.
According to KNS, the CRPF vehicle was travelling through a hilly terrain when it skidded off the road and plunged into the gorge. A rescue operation was launched immediately, and all injured personnel were evacuated from the site.
"Five of the injured are in critical condition and have been shifted to a hospital for advanced treatment," an official said.
On the request of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Army helicopters were pressed into service to airlift the seriously injured jawans to medical facilities...
