Srinagar, Aug. 9 -- 2 Army soliders and 3 terrorists have been killed in an ongoing encounter in Kulgam district, the Army said on Saturday.
The gunfight began on August 1 in the Akhal forest area and has now entered its ninth day, making it one of the longest anti-terror operations in the Valley in recent years. Two other soldiers were injured during the operation.
"Chinar Corps honours the supreme sacrifice of L/Nk Pritpal Singh and Sep Harminder Singh in the line of duty. Their courage will forever inspire us," the Army posted on X, expressing condolences to the bereaved families.
DGP Nalin Prabhath, who is personally monitoring the operation, said the delay is due to the difficult terrain and dense forest cover.Click Here To Follow...
