Srinagar, March 16 -- Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Srinagar and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A police party during patrolling from Bemina Chowk to Boatman Colony intercepted a vehicle coming from Bemina Chowk to Boatman colony was noticed driving suspiciously and recklessly, who tried to flee however the vehicle was tactfully stopped. Upon stopping, the driver immediately jumped out and fled from the spot. While the other co-passenger remained inside and was apprehended on the spot who disclosed his name as Sameer Ahmad Bhat son of Ali Mohammad Bhat resident of Woyan Pampore.
