Drass, Aug. 15 -- The 79th Independence Day was celebrated in Sub Division Drass, at Govt. Higher Secondary School Drass, where SDM Drass, Shri Vishal Atri, JKAS was the chief guest.

He hoisted the national flag at 10:00 a.m. and saluted at the march past presented by the contingent of Ladakh Police and students of various schools.

On the occasion, the chief guest wished a happy Independence Day and highlighted the supreme sacrifices of the freedom fighters for the sake of freedom. He also highlighted the contribution of Indian Army during Operation Vijay in 1999.
