Kargil, Oct. 29 -- Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today successfully resolved the long-pending dispute between the villages of Youljuk and Khows in the Suru region.

An official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between representatives of both villages, outlining that the crade construction work along the Suru River will be carried out simultaneously and equally on both sides of the river. The MoU further stipulates that the Shiring Tsok area will be divided equally between the two sides.

It was also agreed that proper channelization work of the river will be undertaken to maintain and regulate water flow, ensuring that no damage is caused to property on either bank.
