Sankoo, Oct. 9 -- Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today inaugurated a private trout fish farm at Karchekhar, Sankoo, established by local entrepreneur Tahir Hussain under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).

Expressing satisfaction over the quality of work executed by the farmer and the functioning of the fish farm, Dr. Akhoon commended the initiative and assured full support from the Council in promoting fisheries and aquaculture as sustainable sources of income. He emphasized that efforts are underway to transform rural poverty into prosperity through the development of fisheries and aquaculture.
