Srinagar, Feb. 1 -- The Traffic Police Headquarters Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday issued a detailed traffic plan and advisory for Feb 1, 2026, warning of slow vehicular movement on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway due to multiple disruptions, including a single lane stretch and adverse weather conditions.

Officials said traffic movement remained sluggish on Jan 30 between Marog and Kishtwari Pather on NH 44 following a breakdown of two heavy motor vehicles. The situation has been further aggravated by a 20 to 30 metre single lane stretch at Kishtwari Pather, caused by the sinking of the road. In view of this, heavy motor vehicles have been advised to ply only on alternate days.
