Srinagar, March 6 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Wednesday witnessed animated discussions MLA as Handwara Sajad Gani Lone questioned past governments, particularly the National Conference (NC), over decades of violence in the region.

Speaking in the House, Lone raised concerns over the loss of lives in Jammu and Kashmir, asking who should be held accountable.

He said while many had died, political discourse often overlooked responsibility. Responding to NC MLA Shamima Firdous, he said that large-scale violence occurred under NC's rule from 1996-2002 and 2008-2014, yet no one was held answerable.
