Srinagar, March 7 -- Reacting to the remarks of the Leader of Opposition in the House regarding martyrs of July 13, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today asserted that their sacrifices cannot be erased, adding late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah's stature was not tied to December 5 holiday.
Winding up the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the Lieutenant Governor's address in the Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister said, "The sacrifices of the martyrs and the contributions of Sher-e-Kashmir remain indelible in the hearts of the people, regardless of political decisions to remove holidays."
