Baramulla, Feb. 20 -- Renowned Urdu and Pahari language poet and writer Raja Abdul Qayoom Khan, known affectionately as Nazar Boniyari, breathed his last in a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday.

He was 74 years old.

According to a close family member, Khan had been battling a kidney ailment during his stay at the hospital, where he succumbed to his illness this afternoon.

Boniyari hailed as a prolific writer, leaves behind a rich literary legacy comprising more than fourteen books, with six in Pahari and eight in Urdu languages.
