SRINAGAR, May 23 -- The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) have announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various districts of Kashmir to carry out essential maintenance, tree pruning, and system readiness works ahead of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025.
As per the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the following areas in North Kashmir will witness power outages due to the shutdown of 33KV lines for branch cutting and pruning of trees:
May 26, 2025: Tangmarg, Kulhama, Cable Car, Khyber Resort, Baba Reshi Shrine and adjoining areas (09:30 AM to 03:30 PM) - due to shutdown of 33KV Nihalpora-Gulmarg line.
