Srinagar, Sept. 11 -- A nomadic herder was killed after being attacked by a bear in the Kharpath Larno area of Kokernag forests in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday.

Quoting officials, the news agency GNS reported that Sadam Hussain Qureshi (27), son of Abdul Wahid Qureshi, resident of Majalta Udhampur, was attacked by a bear when the herder was grazing his cattle in the forest area, resulting in his death on the spot.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident
