Srinagar, March 27 -- Police in Bandipora have solved a theft case within hours by arresting an accused person.

Acting on a complaint of one Nazir Ahmad Mir, a shopkeeper at Gulshan Chowk Bandipora, about theft of cash amounting to 1.7 lakh from his shop, police after registering a case, during investigation arrested one Imran Ahmad Sofi, son of Ghulam Nabi Sofi of Rak Arath Dal Colony, Bemina Srinagar.

An amount of 1,49,500 in cash was also recovered from his possession, while a vehicle (JK05B-8805) used in the crime has also been seized., police said, adding that it cracked this case of theft within eight hours after the complaint was lodged.
