During an inspection in Batmaloo, the department's enforcement unit detected significant discrepancies in the net weight of pre-packaged edible oil containers.
A case was registered against a leading manufacturer and packer of edible oil after standard weighing equipment confirmed a shortage exceeding the permissible error limit prescribed under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules.
