Srinagar, Jan. 31 -- Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) chief, and Member Parliament Engineer Rashid, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, will go on hunger strike from Friday to protest not being allowed to attend the Parliament proceedings beginning January 31.

AIP vice-president GN Shaheen, while addressing a press conference in Srinagar, said that as the Parliament session begins, Engineer Rashid remains incarcerated in Tihar Jail.

"We have been informed that Engineer Rashid is going on a hunger strike from tomorrow in Tihar Jail. So, here in Jammu and Kashmir, we have also decided to go on a hunger strike to support our leader," Shaheen said.

"In Srinagar, we will begin our hunger strike at Pratap Park while as in Jammu our workers too wil...
