Srinagar, Dec. 9 -- Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday ordered an inquiry into the incident at Child and Maternity Hospital, Anantnag, where a 24-year-old woman died after giving birth, an incident that had triggered allegations of medical negligence and protests by family members and locals.

Taking cognizance of the incident, the government has appointed the Principal, Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar, as inquiry officer, who has been asked to submit a detailed report along with her recommendations within 14-days positively.
