Srinagar, April 9 -- An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in village Jopher, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramnagar in Udhampur district.
Oficials told the news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an encounter broke out during a joint search operation launched by the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and other security forces.
"Contact was established with the hiding terrorists, leading to a fierce exchange of fire," the officials said.
Initial reports suggest that 2 to 3 terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area.
The operation is underway, and additional reinforcements have been rushed to the spot
