SRINAGAR, July 5 -- The Directorate of Ayush, Jammu & Kashmir, expresses deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences on the demise of Dr. Tahir Mufti, the founding Director of Indian Systems of Medicine (now Ayush) in Jammu & Kashmir.
His demise marks the end of an era and caused an irreparable loss to the Ayush fraternity across the Union Territory.
Dr. Tahir Mufti was a Visionary Administrator, pioneering reformer, and a devoted advocate of traditional Indian medicine.
He is remembered for his historic contribution in structurally and administratively segregating the Indian Systems of Medicine (now Ayush) from the Directorate of Health Services, thereby establishing it as an independent Directorate.
