Srinagar, March 20 -- A verbal duel broke out between the ruling NC-Congress and opposition BJP in the Assembly over the issue of chartered flights.

During the Question Hour, as per news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO), MLA Shopian Shabir Kulley raised concerns about the alleged misuse of public funds on chartered flights.

He demanded the constitution of a House Committee to investigate the matter. In its reply to his Cut Motion, the government has claimed that Rs 14 crore expenditure has been incurred on chartered flights.

The NC-Congress MLAs supported the demand for a probe, while BJP legislators accused them of playing to the galleries instead of investigating the allegations.
