Baramulla, Jan. 10 -- The Office of the District Magistrate Baramulla has ordered the temporary closure of the Baramulla-Uri National Highway on January 11, 2026, in view of "minor landslides and ongoing road clearance and hill cutting works".
According to the official traffic advisory, the highway will remain closed for vehicular movement from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday. The decision has been taken in the interest of public safety following reports of recent minor landslides along the stretch.
The order states that hill cutting work is scheduled to be carried out at Danakha Morh at design chainage 65+600 and near NS Bridge, Uri at design chainage 102+800. Authorities apprehended further landslides due to the nature of the work, neces...
