Srinagar, April 13 -- Following the directions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud Din Bhat, teams of the Food Safety & Drug and Food Control Organization today undertook an intensified markets checking in City areas particularly around Gurdwaras and Mughal Gardens, aimed to safeguard public health by ensuring the quality and safe food items are sold in City markets on the eve of Baisakhi festival.
During the drive led by Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, as many as 10 Food Business Operators (FBOs) were compounded under Section 69 of and Food Safety & Standards Act for violating the Food Safety and Standards Act. A collective penalty of Rs 11,000 was also realized from the 4 FBOs on the spot.
