Jammu, Feb. 19 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested a revenue official for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000 from a complainant for carrying out land demarcation in Reasi district.
An ACB spokesperson said a case (FIR No. 04/2026) under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, was registered against Mohd Saleem Bandey, posted as Girdawar, Halqa Judda, Tehsil Arnas, District Reasi.
According to the Bureau, the accused had allegedly demanded illegal gratification from the complainant in return for demarcating his ancestral land, an official duty he was legally bound to perform without any payment. The complainant approached the ACB seeking action against the official.
