Gulmarg, Feb. 23 -- The sixth edition of the Khelo India Winter Games began at the world-famous ski resort of Gulmarg on Monday, with more than 400 athletes from 30 states and Union Territories taking part in the four-day event.
The snow disciplines are being conducted in Gulmarg and include ski mountaineering, alpine skiing, Nordic (cross-country) skiing and snowboarding. Officials said alpine skiing has recorded the highest number of registrations.
Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gul expressed confidence about the smooth conduct of the Games, citing favourable weather and adequate snow cover.
