In the morning of June 22nd (Japan time), the United States announced that it carried out strikes on three nuclear-related facilities in Iran: Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. Japan is continuing to closely monitor the situation with great interest.
Japan has consistently expressed serious concern over Iran's nuclear issue based on the position that Iran's development of nuclear weapons must never be allowed for the sake of maintaining the international nuclear non-proliferation regime. We have been making diplomatic efforts to resolve the issue in cooperation with the United States and others.
