The Japan Patent Office (JPO) conducted an exchange of opinions with senior officials from the government agencies of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on January 24, 2025 regarding countermeasures against counterfeit goods. The exchange took place at the JPO as part of the International Intellectual Property Protection Forum (IIPPF)*1, which aims to address issues related to intellectual property rights infringements, such as counterfeiting and piracy overseas.
