TOKYO, June 3 -- Joint Staff issued the following press release:
At around 6:00 p.m., Monday, May 26, 2025, JMSDF spotted a PLAN Renhai-class DDG 1 (hull number 104) and a Luyang-III-class DDG 1 (hull number 121) sailing southeastward in the waters approximately 140 km northeast of Miyako-jima Island.
These PLAN vessels continued to sail southeastward through the waters between Okinawa Main Island and Miyako-jima Island into the Pacific Ocean.
JMSDF assets monitored the activities of these vessels.
